A small sharing

Hey ya! Another week has gone!

Hmm..okay, you might not believe it, but I have started writing the book " 100 Days Good Heart". I do the daily writing so far, but I shall now guarantee when will I suddenly abandon writing this book for some time. Thus, I truly admire Yun yi's persistence to record her daily experience for more than 100 days!

And I'm quite stress recently! >.< The three main things which I concern most: Study, Health and BuddY stuff..I have tried my best to maintain the balance among these three, however it seems that many things are out of my control. This happened so frequently in these few days, thus I was quite frustrated over making daily plans which would never be carried out in the way it should be.

Yesterday, I attended Hiew Mun and May Yee's birthday celebration at Mewah Club. It is so nice to meet many old friends there! Some of them were not met since July last year( Lei Kheng, Lee ann), and some were even longer( Ker Sean)! Some of them have already found their another half too! Fastnya¬ and I wonder when could I meet my Harry Potter in London. Anyway, Happy Birthday to May Yee and Poon~~

Have you ever hug a baby of four days old into your arms? Yeah, I did so, in this evening and I shall say it's a moment full of love and joy! She's my uncle's newborn baby, name unkown, and she's only 4 DAYS old! Oh my, guess what, I dare not move even an inch when she's comfortably lied in my arms, feeling she's so fragile that a little movement will end up injuring her little body. She's so so so cute and tiny! When she slowly blinked and looked at me with her small eyes, she makes me feel that at this moment I would like to protect her and love her unconditionally - a type of inherent maternal love i guess! The butterfly effect: she did change my mind a little bit regarding marriage. I had never expected hugging a baby will give me an untold innermost joy which nourishes my heart for a long, long time.

In case that I had no time to blog again, I wish all of you Happy Deepavali and happy holidays ( as i guess some of you are enjoy your study leave or vacation now)!

My Physics lecturer

My Physics lecturer, Mr. Tan , is indeed a man of wisdom. Don't ever judge his intelligence and humour by his cover! So often he throws us some words which would make us bursts into laughters, or even, deep into contemplation. The Tan kl-style of speaking is sometimes sarcastic but with a deep sense of humour, while the other times ( most of the time indeed) is philosphical. Sometimes it just makes its way into your innner heart...and you will probably be touched by this fatherly lecturer, who always finds his very unique way of concerning about his students.

Today, 20/10, 12 -2pm, Physics lesson

We got our Physics unit 5 experiment paper back. Then he started discuss with us about the common mistakes we made in this paper. Here are some funny words thrown by him! There's a bit difference though, as I can't really bear in mind every word he said. However, it is true that the real situation would be much more funny than this!

Tan- Mr tan
Students - Stu

Tan: ...Hey ya...must study hard la..I really hope that you all can fly to UK...but not walk to UK...
Stu: Har?? ( what's that walk to uk..??)
Tan: Har?? Yala, Walk to UK la! If you cannot fly to UK , then only can walk to Ulu Krang lah...

When he is discussing about the % uncertainty in the first question, which is about the period of oscillations, T, some students got confused and thought that he is discussing question 3. ( Question 3 also has a T for % uncertainty but stands for Tension)

Stu ( Goh) : Teacher, T is constant ma..why you find T's % uncertainty?
Tan: Wheregot, T we got measure ma, where got constant?
Stu: T is the tension wo...we didnt measure that lel...
* then the student was quickly reminded that teacher is discussing the first question
Tan: It is period ma! Where got Tension~ you all make me tension then got la!

Discussion proceeds..

Tan: ..Oh ya...I tell you all arr....never never use this word that " the % uncertainty is roughly the same as.." or " about or almost the same..." never never use these phrases arr...It is haram word you know! Dont use that in yr exam...

Suddenly I have a question so i ask teacher:

Stu: Teacher, for this paper rite ( section C) , do we have to revise unit 2 or other previous units before the exam?
Tan: (frown his face a bit) Har~ you need revise meh...Not all edi in your brain meh?? ( smiling at me)
Student: Erm..hehe..
Tan: You all always complain no time ma, now got time to revise other units arr? I thought you no time edi? ( counting his fingers) No time ma...after sleeping la, shopping la, watching tv la, playing la...like this sure no time for studies ma..izzit??
Stu: Ewww....
Tan: Yala, you see, next year jan exam edi...You can either work hard in this half a year's time...OR...you WORK HARDFOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE lo...so it's for you to choose la...see whether you wanna work hard now, or u wanna postpone it...later work hard for your whole life lo...

He's so concern about us and always wants us to do our best...

Finally, we resumes our class again. Someone wants the air-con remote control from Mr. Tan to increase the temperature, coz it's too cold! Then he replied,

" I think arr, when you go to UK, you will not die of hunger....You will die of cold! ( the whole class laughing) last time when my daughter is there arr, i said i wanna visit her, she said " dont, it's very cold!" My size she also said cold, how about you!?"

HAHA...that's the end of the story. I am awaiting a whole new bunch of jokes and genuine advices from him tomorrow. As a student, I feel very proud of him... He has done a lot of heartwarming things which somehow beyond what a lecturer does. He set up a blog just for writing some advices to us ( http://kltans.blogspot.com/), sms us to chat with us when he is free, and as an old man, he likes to give us advices, whenever we approach him personally just to ask some questions. Oh ya, I still remembered that he once had a wonderful tea time with me and he treated me a drink! And last year, I and some classmates even pay visits to his house...haha..He's funny and I didn't see any so-called generation gap between he and his students ( at least for me). His presence makes me remind of the book " Tuesdays with Morrie", which I found some similarities between him and Morrie...
but of course, I wouldn't want our situation turns out to be like that!

However, I did sense his sadness and dismay over the fact that we are going to leave him in the not too distant future. From my heart, I sincerely hope that I and my friends can always keep in touch with him, no matter where we are and how long the time has past. I believe that some relationships are worth our appreciation for a lifetime. Thanks for letting me to meet with so many loving persons in my life!
=)

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---God, your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else---the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Spend
time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

Keep Raining ,
Keep keep raining love
I keep praying
keep keep praying hard
keep praying
do you hear me not?
Don't rain on Sunday...

Can everyone who see this post kindly pray for us that rain is not coming on this Sunday? We are having our Buddy Campfire at UCSI !!! Our president is begging us to observe the raining pattern throughout this week...and sadly, for the past 2 days it has been a STRONG POSITIVE CORRELATION between number or days passed by and the frequency of raining. And a dunno-who even suggest us to...WhAT!? to hang a dried chili on the window so that it won't rain?? Oh I have never heard abt this but I believe some commitees are going to decorate their room with some chilies!

Oh my..everyone of us has been putting all our effort just to prepare for this first BuddY (buddhist youth ) Campfire! Especially the Publicity group, they have had a few sleepless nights just to make all d flyers, posters, etc. and they did draw and colour each poster themselves! Sounds crazy ya? Okay, with respect to yr contributions, I shall honour you with the CCE Most Hardworking Award! And of course..that's not the only group who sacrifices so much! there are also the secretaries, treasurer, games director logistic and LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST the performance and food...hehehe...blowing my own trumpet huh...that's just to compensate my petrol fees! HAHA!

So, there are still a few days countdown to our campfire! During the campfire, we'll have BBQ, singing, dancing, games, inspiration session and lots more - all packed into a short few hours from 6 to 10.30pm. You have sausages and fishballs and lots more for BBQ, drinks, fun, and you can't believe it - that's just RM5! Cheap dao... ... ... Since it is so interesting, how can you not coming to join us? You'll surely get to know a lot of new friends there. Oh my, why am I promoting it!
Anyway, there is no way for me to promote if it has nothing good itself rite? So, if any of you are interested, just call me or leave me a msg! If you don't, at least pray for us that it will turn out to be a fun and successful night in UCSI!

Oh my oh my, Oct knocks my door!

Finally, eventually, ultimately - Having been busy all the way down the September month ( endless "US working hours" just to prepare a good ps, to do a thorough research on the universities, etc), I had finally sent my UCAS application form! What a big relieve for me and my friends in UCSI! oh my god, I could never feel as relaxed as I feel now. ^^ Thanks to all those who had helped me in the whole process!

Here are my five important choices that I had made: MKBCN. If you could guess it out. haha. Just let the fate decide where I would be going, at least I have tried my best in everything I could do! Hooray for the end of the sufferings !!!

So, this week of holidays comes at the right time. Although I abandoned my regular sleeping habit and switched on my holiday mode by sleeping at 1 a.m. and waking up at nine, ( how could I resist my fluffy big Queen size bed! ), I still manage to allocate the rest of the day for my activities. I spent some time with my dear Harry Potter *^_^* and made a considerably huge progression from page 627 to page 871 in 3 days' time ( Okay Fatin, I didn't read this all the day! That's still considered a lot for me!) Immersing myself in the magical world of Harry Potter is always the best thing I can do, and believe me, I'm going to find him in London in the not distant future.

Then, I have to complete my mountains of homework in these remaining days! This is a bit tricky; I have to revise my previous lessons before I can even put my fingers on the questions! That's the result of accumulating my work in the last week of the month...T.T I have actually wanted to do some advanced revision on each subject in this hol, but have decided to call it off as I haven't even started on my Chemistry unit 5.1 to 5.3, which were finish taught by the lecturer before the holidays start. Oh ms. Annie, forgive me k! I promise I would definitely revise them as the school reopens. =)

P/s: Mr Tan, don't blame on me pls, I have already revised yours!

And yesterday I have a sweet conversation with my best friend. She, like other sixth form students, is going to face her ultimate STPM in November. I wish them all d best and hopefully in the end they will get what they want. How good it is if the results is directly proportional to the effort you put in your studies!

I also got some news from my former classmates too! Both are JPA students studying Accountancy, they are going to further their studies in New Zealand and Australia respectively on February next year. My friend who is going to NZ, she got an offer from the University of Aukland whereas another got the offer from the University of Melbourne. Now as I recall, there are 5 in total who will be leaving early next year. I guess I am the latest one who will leave, as the entry date to UK would be around September 2009.

Hmm..I think I am fond of someone whom I really admire. He's really kind. However, it's kinda impossible to us to have any progression beyond our friendship, coz i guess he already found someone he likes. Anyway, miracles do happen right? Just let my imagination flies before it comes to an end. Hehe.

Tomorrow some of my friends are coming over to my house to prepare the souvenirs of the campfire. The CAMPFIRE! Oh, you can't imagine how many effort we have put in just to make it work. And then, the next Monday onwards, I'm going to plunge my whole self into the preparation work - dancing, singing, buying food, those kinds of things. I believe it is worth our effort. Go go go everyBuddY !

Later I'm going to Kajang to trim my hair. Of course, with my mom. I have decided to leave my hair long this time. And hopefully it won't turn out to be an awful look afterall. I have had so many experiences of my hair being cut into cube shape or whatsoever which would make me "outstanding" and " recognisable" in the crowd. That reminds me of my high school years though. Ahha~ I 'm going out now! Adieu! Hope you guys have a nice day!
