Today!!!

I didn't do any thing abt study at all ( Apart from printing tmr's lecture ) although I don't have lectures at all today, except for the two hours French class. Wake up at nine. Make pasta for myself and housemates at eleven. Then eat and change and it's time to take bus to skol at around 1250 pm. The most wonderful moment I spend on bus is to have Thich Nhat Hanh book on my hand! Reading it just make me wanna be aware that I am alive now. Sun shines a lot today, and to me it's the summer day! Don't be trapped by the concept of four seasons; We do get Summer weather in Oct. And the exciting part is you never know what season it is until you wake up the next day. :D

Then we have French class. And I and Wan joo ( my hse mate) and Yean actually deal on an agreement on nt teasing each other anymore!!! Although I am so so so used to teasing ppl and make fun out of this, I am kind of glad that I have made one step further -  to stop myself from the poisoning habit of saying rumours! I promise, I'll try my best, but if I do speak it out out of awareness, I hope they are not cruel enough to punish me hard! ><

Then at night we watched  a movie while waiting for celeb Jackie's birthday. After  that we walked to Kenny they all's house and give a huge surprise to Jackie!!!! Kenny and Justin even made a homemade strawberry cake for Jackie and it tastes really great. I mean, for guys who never baked this type of cake and started everything from sketch, this is a thing worth praising of! But they have sifu to teach them though.^^
Jackie said that he knows sth is going on because he saw our friend's shoes in his house! lol~ Anyway, hope that he really enjoy the not-so-surprising celeb and the cake. haha.

Then it's 11 sth as we get back. So I and yean started to prepare tmr's sandwiches to skol. Yean is like a zombie. She just felt so sleepy! I prone to be one soon. Coz it's already 12am. But I just felt so happy for living today and am really grateful for the wonderful stuffs around. Today's passed away, another today's come!!! Embrace! * But first of all must make sure I fully recharge my battery first* Bonne nuit~

Practising the right speech

Have you ever said something that you'll regret right after saying it out? Have you ever spoken something that shouldn't be said, out of excitement or other emotional influence?

Right, that's what I have done today to one of my friends. Without considering her feelings I just spoke out something in front of the others that she might not be happy of. Although it is not a huge matter, it is a point worth reflected.

Sometimes we'll just say something or do something stupid because we are not fully aware that what are we doing or saying at that very moment. We may be just overwhelmed by our emotions and follow wherever it brings us to. And sometimes, it can be disastrous. In the suttra, Buddha did mention the importance of practising the right speech. It means that :

We practise not to tell anything untrue to the others ( 不妄语 such as rumours) ,
not to say things that are not useful to our lives and the others ( 不绮语e.g. for the mere sake of pleasing people ),
not to speak something bad behind the person or tell different stories in front of two people (不两舌)
And not to say something that will hurt or annoy the others' feeling. (不恶口)

And it is not easy at all to practise that. Every day, I have spoken lots of unskillful words, teasing others by their rumours, etc etc. And that's considered a lot, not yet accounting those that I have spoken when I was unaware of what I spoke. It may not seem to be a bad thing but, when it has become a habit there is a hidden danger in it.

Why should we practise the right speech? The reason is as simple as, we have to bear the consequences of what we have done or spoken. Something that you think is unimportant may be the reverse for the person himself. By not practising the right speech, we may have hurt our dearest friends and family members, annoy people that we are unaware of, say something disastrous that will ruin our or other's reputation, or lost the trust that people put on us. And we definitely won't be happy when any of these happens.

Practising the right speech does not discourage us that we shouldn't be speaking at all. Inversely, by knowing its consequences, we should be more aware of it and try to speak words that will bring harmony and comfort to the others. And that will normally form a positive feedback loop: As we sincerely treating others and speaking something truthful to them, we'll become happier because we don't need to think anything particular just to please others. We do not have to wait until people treat us equally the same way to become happy. And if they do, it is normal because Newton's third law pair of forces do apply in human interactions.

Today's lesson just make me realise how important the right speech is. And to practise the right speech, we need to be fully aware of what we are speaking, who are we speaking to, the content and consequences of saying that out and the suitable time of voicing it out. Without awareness to our speech and action, it is impossible to practise the right speech. And it is so important because a mouth can be used to compliment the others, it can also turn into a sword that hurt others as well as its owner.

Yeah, I should be aware and take good care of my own mouths from now onwards! :)

*Practise the right speech. Say something that will brighten up one's day, truly from our heart.*

Sunny day!

Sunny Day today~~
My bear bear is basking in the sun^_^ so hot~
Jessica was so excited that today there isnt any cloud in the sky, which is very rare. But i like the clouds because they are always changing! haha.
felt a bit sleepy today. I should sleep earlier tonight. Am seriously a person who cannot live without eight hours' sleep.

Ytd I dreamt of my prince <3 <3 <3 We were climbing rocks and the rocks are so slippery. I was so afraid of falling and then he just appeared beside me and give me his hands to help me to climb over. so nice. keke..PS: I didn't think of the person all the day! this dream is a random one. :P

Met JPA officer in the evening today. No dinner for us though. She is very friendly and talked to us for about more than one hour. Actually it does give me some inspirations to strive on being a good pharmacist! She's advising us must go back to msia to contribute to our country after graduation, which I think most of us have heard not less than three times. But hor, this time, as I contemplated further, UK has already had such an organised system for the profession of pharmacist and they are not lacking of excellent pharmacists here. But what really needs them is our beloved country who is still developing. We can have very good lives there, but,  will we really be happy alone while seeing our country remain undeveloped, our dad, mom, relatives and friends living there sometimes suffering from the system and we never tried to do a thing about it?  And, if we the lucky ones don't go back and apply the knowledge we have learnt for the reason of money or so, who else will continue the mission?

Just like the Bodhisattvas, with the merits they practise and gain they can get much better life in pure land in the West and never come back. Yet, they are still willing to come back to help us, and without them, where are we now? Without them, I'll never know happiness can only be found within my heart, not at the outer world. In simpler words, it's not happy to be happy alone, it's much more happier to be happy together. =)

Taking U10 bus back is also a bliss. And after coming back, we have Sin yee's mom cook -- mee sua.. hehe..nice nice. Always the best after a day's work. It's quite late now. I think a peaceful sleep is the best way to end my day today. Ah, a fulfilling day. Cheerios~~

When the new term starts

This post is written due to the demand of gengwai mama. haha..
Erm, erm...Let's talk about my first week ( almost!) of school and my living environment here..hehe..
I dunno since when my friends around me are all so happy-go-lucky and sampat. hehe. So, here I am living in a new house in Old field Park with four warm hearted, sampat and cheerful friends. Everything is okay so far and I being the laziest of unpack all my stuffs. Sin yee ( one of my hsemate)'s mom is staying with us here for a couple of few weeks so you can imagine..we are really in a bliss recently..why? We can enjoy mom's cook as soon as we get U10 or U18 back home as soon as possible!!! This is really a good thing especially after a exhaustive day of lectures! hehehe~~ Thx to Sin yee's mom! Among those good food, she made us pan mee and curry chicken which we never expected to eat in UK....We will definitely miss you when you get back to msia! Awww~~^^

And so the new term has started. We will be having a more hectic life with lectures until 615pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday ( the busiest). Poor thing, Yean is going to have lectures non-stop for dunno 6 or 7 hours on Thursday without ANY gap! Today  is Thursday and I tried to be positive towards my whole day, but failed during the brain cudgelling 3 hours lecture-thon. Hah~

The changes:
1. We made sandwich to school because we'll be having lunch mainly in uni. A combination of honey ham, tomates and lettuce fills our hunger at noon.
2. Taking bus. This can be time consuming~ hehe..Sometimes it is a real long queue and we have to stand on the bus till we get to uni. A good thing is, if i get a seat in the bus, I can simply close my eyes and enjoy the rest of the journey to the uni. Bus meditation..hehe..
3. I am being more "Pharmacist" now.. What we learn now is more clearly towards the Pharmaceutical field. I have been crazily using A4 papers for printing notes..running out of papers and it is just first week of the term.
4. The sceneries in Oldfield Park is soooo nice and calming. And looking out from the window of Dudu's room is especially Inspiring!!!! ( from dudu room can gaze stars at night!)
5. Good food, lots fun cooking together and online delivery!
6. Library as my second home in UK if Old field park the first. Means that I am getting more and more hardworking now. HAH..as if..(not so sure)ya..coz we normally spend out times in library if there is any gap.
7. We are seriously motivated by Jessica who always utilised her free time wisely by looking at lecture notes!
8. At last got myself a duvet and duvet cover. 100% cotton hor. so hard to find la. hehe.
9. All the rooms in the house are unlocked because they said it's against the law to have locks in a student house. But I kind of get used to it now. My room has soon become a 'playground' for everyone!
10. I have a home now. This is another brand new experience apart from staying in campus and  it is not as bad as we thought initially!

Heheh..That's all for now. Till I have ilham then! :D
