Desserts

66 West Avenues has getting too bored of reading books and notes. After dinner everyone has a sudden rush of making desserts.
Look at what we did tonight to destress a bit!

Initially we wanted to cook green bean soup 绿豆糖水, but because of the small volume of water and a lot of sagu we ended up having “绿豆西米露”. Tastes really nice and sweet!!

Beneficial effect:  Green beans help reducing edema.

Last time we have found the BBC recipe on making Lemon self saucing pudding. This is how it looks like in the website:

It's really easy to make this pudding as long as u have one lemon, concentrated lemon juice and some, typical baking ingredients: Butter, flour, milk, eggs, etc. The hardest part would be, the effort to whip the egg white and beat the mixture. Tiring~

That's our first experimental pudding! Sorry, it's not visually attractive here as the light is dim, but it tastes really really great!!! With the help of two experienced bakers aka Wan Joo and Sin Yee, we often come out with a success! Just like what Jes said, Miracle often happens during baking! (She said so because I couldnt really believe that the beating of butter sugar and lemon zest inititally will end up smooth and pale. )

No wonder this pudding has got many 5 stars reviews from the readers. Worth a try and believe me, it is really tasty! But dont be shocked when you see the final mixture as a very dilute mixture, it is meant to be so. Here is the link: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5781/lemon-selfsaucing-pudding

Okay I don't dare to count the amount of sugar and nuts that I have ingested today! ><
