Yesterday, under the bimbingan of our "mom" Shieh Yi, we went to volunteer ourselves in 鹤鸣禅寺 at KL. However, we reached there a bit late and we don't really help much as the volunteers are a lot and already in their respective positions! 惭愧~
Despite the volunteering work, I did learn and experience many new things yesterday! It's my second time to celebrate Wesak Day with other Buddhits in a temple, which makes this day a real " Wesak Day" for me ( Except for 2007 which I did volunteering work in SJBA, I usually spend this public holiday sleeping at home or doing sth else) Because of not having a real position for us, we got the chance to participate in many of the activies! It's the first time I bathed the Buddha statue(浴佛)and joined the refuge ceremony( 皈依仪式)!
In the afternoon, because we are a little bit too senang, Shieh Yi mom and Chiew Rui daddy brought their children: me, Eva, Siong Hui and Jin Tong to watch movie in Times Square! We watched the Star Trek at 4.30pm. It's a fantastic movie with lots of unpredictable story plots. Two thumbs up for it! hehe..and the hero is really handsome ( According to Eva) but I think Harry potter beats him =P
Before the show begins, our bro. Siong hui was hungry and so we have our tea time session in Gasonline. *first time also* Okay..I think I already have a hole in my pocket so I ended up drinking nth there =.= lol..we have a nice chatting time there and I had a nice conversation with Eva ^.^ Our mom is so 8 that she wanna know about everyone's love history and the qualities of the girl/boy they like... the way she asked ppl is very experienced and we guest another show similar to 鲁豫有约 is coming soon, hosted by our mom =D so we end up digging each other's love secrets although we initially talked about Buddhism and so..it's all mom's fault. haha.
Okay, 1 thing to mention. Eating popcorns without a cold drink is definitely not a wise choice. I almost get choked by the popcorns. Urgh.
After the movie, we all run around the place crazily to find the toilet..!!! Din expect the movie to be that long...So the ppl will see a group of blue ppl running and passing by them..after that, I suggested we'll have our dinner in Subway and the idea was accepted. *First time eating in Subway* Someone's mouth is SO big and ate incredibly fast. My mouth is SO small that I was the last one to finish my burger *aih, no choice* We ended up laughing deadly until my stomache feels the pain because there's a stupid guy who doesn't know what's the black thing on his skin! ( which is actually the dirt)
Then we quickly proceeded to Tun Sambathan to join the Wesak parade. We rejoined the Uniten friends at there. Knowing that we'd missed up some beautifully decorated cars at the front part of the parade, we walked a little bit fast to catch up the cars. There are many participants joining this parade. Although it was mostly made up of Chinese, there's an equally huge number of Myanmmar Buddhists and some Indians too. That makes me feel that how Buddhism teaching has touched the hearts of people from cross boundaries. Some even brought their pets to the parade! While walking, there r also some people who gave us the crysanthenum flower to hold..it is so kind of them! ^.^ The monks sitting on the car will spread the holy water to the walking crowd. It's the first time for me to join a Wesak parade and although the process is hot~~ I gained a lot of joy by being a part of the crowd in the parade.
And Malaysians! Do you know that Malaysia is the only country in the world that will held Wesak parades at streets during Wesak Day? You can't see it even in India! This trivia really surprised me and that's why I longed for joining the parade this year so much. hehe.
Last Year I was a volunteer litting up the lights offered by the public and I joined the blood donation. This year I was more to be the participant of these events. What a nice Wesak day I had before leaving my motherland. I feel very happy and contented when I recalled back the events as I write this.
妙修,我喜欢。。哈哈。
未来学佛之路也许走得艰辛,但是我不会轻易放弃。因为那是值得的...我已经“报名”了嘛...嘻... :)
